Founder Chairman Padma Bhushan Sahu Shriyans Prasad Jain 1908 - 1992
Born on November 3rd 1908, Sahu Shriyans Prasad Jain has been the most important source of inspiration to the Company providing it the foundation to build a successful and socialable business. Not only was Mr. S.P. Jain an industrialist far ahead of his time, but also was a leader, a philanthropist, and activist and a visionary whose contribution to the country in the fields of education, healthcare, social welfare and commerce have been far reaching till today. We wish to pay tribute to this truly noble Indian.

A Story Going Back Decades
1925
Setup India’s first Soda Ash factory at Dhrangadhra, Gujarat in West India..
1936
The plant was taken over and run under the name of Dhrangadhra Chemical Works.
1959
Commissioning of the chlor-alkali plant at Sahupuram in Tamil Nadu.
1968
Founded India’s first
Trichloroethylene plant.
1970
Integrated PVC plant was erected making the Company one of the first in the nascent petrochemicals field.
1970
Set up a plant to manufacture Synthetic Rutile, the first of its kind in Asia, and even today, one of the few of its kind in the world.
1978
First company in India to produce UTOX a buff coloured pigment manufactured by recovering TiO2 particles
1983
First company in South East Asia to use imported merchant VCM to produce PVC
1986
To reflect the expanded activity spectrum, and its emergence as a multi-product and multi-locational company, the corporate name was changed simply to DCW Limited.
1993
Pilot plant to produce Synthetic Iron Oxide Pigment was setup, a result of R&D efforts.
2007
Caustic Soda plant conversion to membrane cell process from mercury process
2008
Commissioned 2X25MW Coal based Power plant.
2016
Commissioned one of Asia's largest scale of Synthetic Iron Oxide Pigment Plant..
2017
Commenced production of C-PVC as the first & only producer in India.
